Alumni Hall of Fame

The University of Mississippi Alumni Hall of Fame was created in October 1974 to honor those alumni who have made an outstanding contribution to their country, their state and The University of Mississippi through their leadership, loyal support, service and dedication, all of which have perpetuated the great name of Ole Miss.

All alumni are eligible for consideration. From the nominations submitted, not more than five outstanding alumni are chosen by a seven-member committee and are inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame during Homecoming.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Past Recipient List

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award, created to recognize young alumni who have shown exemplary leadership throughout their first 15 years of alumni status in both their career and dedication to Ole Miss. One award will be presented annually. 

Letters of nomination should be accompanied by a resume and other supporting documents.  Current public officials and those currently running for elected state or national public office are not eligible for consideration.  Current appointed or elected members of the Alumni Board, current members of the Board of Trustees, IHL, and current employees of the University are not eligible for consideration.

Alumni Service Award
Past Recipient List

The Alumni Service Award, created to recognize individuals who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary commitment, dedication, leadership, and service to the advancement of the University and the Alumni Association, is open to all living persons who are active members of the Alumni Association and who have been members of the Association for at least 25 years.  One award will be presented annually. 

Letters of nomination should include demonstrated volunteer service to the University and to the Alumni Association over an extended period of time rather than short-term service.  Current public officials and those currently running for elected state or national public office are not eligible for consideration.  Current appointed or elected members of the Alumni Board, current members of the Board of Trustees, IHL, and current employees of the University are not eligible for consideration.

Teacher of the year

Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to nominate candidates for the Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.

Each nomination should be the work of, and signed by, one person. Contents should be restricted to examples of good teaching and reasons why the nominee should receive the award. All assistant, associate and full professors who are principally engaged in teaching - and who are not previous winners - are eligible.
