Why membership matters
Membership dues provide the operating budget for every activity and program in the department of Alumni Affairs, programs that help provide a connection for nearly 115,000 former students and Ole Miss Supporters.
Dues assist with campus-wide athletic support, both directly and indirectly. Dues go toward various student recruiting efforts. The Alumni Association manages The Grove Society- a program that enhances beautification and preservation of the Grove. Dues enable a variety of reunions to take place each year, which bring Ole Miss Family members back to campus. We also coordinate alumni activities for every school and college on the campus. Dues allow for the existence and growth of several scholarship endowments- currently providing money for education to more than 200 deserving students. Dues cover the costs of providing web-based tools to help Ole Miss Alumni and friends locate other Ole Miss Alumni and friends. Membership dues make online career search opportunities possible through the Ole Miss family network.
Membership dues are 100 percent responsible for any and all outreach from the Association to alumni and friends, whether it be an evening club meeting showcasing a coach, a luncheon where our Chancellor delivers an update about the four UM campuses or a reception to introduce younger or minority graduates to seasoned locals in a particular area of the country. Alumni Association membership dues also cover costs of printing, mailing, and production of publications such as the Alumni Review, the Rebel Insider and occasional short films highlighting the talents and accomplishments of our faculty, students, staff and campus.
The Alumni Association has something to offer everyone. Individual membership dues account for a rather small annual contribution to the university, but there’s a lot of value in pooling annual membership dues among thousands of supporters. When we all come together, great things are possible.
Alumni Association membership dues go toward creating and maintaining value on our campuses, our classrooms, our degrees and our careers. We strive for excellence assisting our students, our administration and faculty, our state and most of all those who love Ole Miss.
